What won the race: Fifth-starting Kyle Berck of Marquette, Neb., clinched his third straight SLMRS title and fourth overall with his series-leading 63rd career victory Saturday in I-80 Speedway's season-ending Cornhusker Classic. Tad Pospisil of Norfolk, Neb., finished second in the race and the points chase.

Key notes: Berck needed a fifth-place finish or better to clinch the crown; he won his seventh SLMRS event of the season. ... Berck has been the tour's winningest driver in each of its eight seasons of competition. ... Pospisil earned $1,000 for Friday's victory at I-80. ... Six days after the Sept. 19 series event at I-80, the series penalized winner Josh Krug for roughing up Corey Zeitner on the last lap. Krug officially kept the victory, but the series awarded point and first-place purse earnings to Zeitner.
