What won the race: Outside front-row starter Donnie Chappell of Jacksonville, Fla., won the United Dirt Late Model Challenge Series finale Saturday at Volusia Speedway Park, earning $3,000 for his first series victory. Chappell took the checkers 0.692 seconds ahead of runner-up Jack Nosbisch Jr.
Key notes: Kyle Bronson's hot streak ended with his lap-24 retirement, but he clinched the series title. ... Dillon Wood of New Smyrna Beach, Fla., who stepped away from racing after the 2013 season, returned to the track for a fifth-place finish.
On the move: Jeff Mathews started 11th and finished third.
