What won the race: Ninth-starting Charlie Sandercock of Belleville, Ontario, overtook leader Brandon Mowat in traffic on the 24th of 50 laps and held the point over the second half of the distance to record a $1,500 Go Nuclear Late Model Challenge Series victory at Brighton Speedway. Sandercock's margin of victory over eighth-starting Phil Potts was 3.093 seconds.
Quotable: “I obviously wasn’t looking forward to a caution,” Sandercock said. “I felt we were moving through lapped traffic really well and I didn’t know if the guys behind me were following me right through. I really didn’t want that caution, but we still made out alright.”

The 50-lapper was slowed by early cautions on laps 2 and 6; the final yellow on lap 34 erased a five-second lead for Sandercock. ... The tour returned to action for the first time since April 24. ... Brighton welcomes the tour again on Sept. 24 for the 65-lap, $6,000-to-win Great Crate Race.
