What won the race: Fifth-starting Bryce Davis of Hornell, N.Y., overtook polesitter John Mollick of Toronto, Ohio, on a lap-14 restart and went on to a $2,000 RUSH Dirt Late Model Series payday at Lernerville Speedway. Sixth-starting Kyle Lukon of Burgettstown, Pa., crossed the finish line second, .951 of a second behind the winner.
Quotable: "I've always wanted to win at place of a caliber like this — it's a dream come true," Davis said. "I got pretty worried on the restart. We were coming down the frontstretch and he (Mollick) tried getting on the top and I wasn't letting him get there. I thought all four of us were going to wreck, but we all came out of it and got straightened out. I don't know how I did it. I was just trying to keep it straight myself."
Key notes: The feature was slowed by just a single caution. ... Mollick led the first 13 circuits, but slipped back to seventh following the restart. ... Lukon took second from Jason Knowles on lap 19 and closed the gap on the leader over the final 10 laps, but never mounted a serious challenge. ... Twenty-three drivers were running at the finish, with 16 completing all 30 laps. ... Lernerville hosted its first of two RUSH events; the Crate Late Model tour wraps up its season in Sarver on Oct. 14-15.
On the move: Brian Knowles of Corning, N.Y., came forward from 10th to record a top-five finish; Dave Lyon of Corry, Pa., started 13th and finished seventh.
