What won the race: Eric Wells of Hazard, Ky., outran Eddie Carrier Jr. of Salt Rock, W.Va., to capture the Halloween 30 on the Ironman Mountain Championship series at 201 Speedway. Wells earned $3,000 for the victory, his first Late Model triumph since 2013.
Quotable: “Needless to say, this one has been a long time coming,” Wells said. “We’ve been close to wins over the past couple of years, but we’ve just fallen a bit short every time. Tonight all of that changed. This wouldn’t have been possible without my great sponsors, family, and crew. I’m so happy my girls were here tonight. All Nylla wanted was a trophy, and I’m so glad to get her one.”
