What won the race: Starting on the pole, hometown driver Trever Feathers picked up a $3,000 victory in Saturday night's 35-lap Battle of the Bay weekend finale at Winchester Speedway. After outgunning fellow front-row starter Ricky Elliott of Seaford, Del., for the lead at the initial green flag, Feathers, 24, turned back repeated challenges from Ronnie DeHaven Jr., also from Winchester, to shed a run of early-season bad luck with his first win of 2017.

Quotable: "It's hard to believe this is the first race we've finished all season," a relieved Feathers said. "We went hard on tires tonight and they were starting to give up towards the end and I knew Ronnie (DeHaven) was getting close, so I had to drive the car as straight as I could to try and hold him back."

Key notes: Feathers credited his performance to a new engine built by Roger DeVenny, who constructed Feathers's team a fresh powerplant after they were hampered by some motor trouble early in the season. ... DeHaven briefly edged ahead of Feathers during their late-race battle but settled for a close runner-up finish, a half car length behind the victor. ... Saturday's Winchester event wrapped up the Battle of the Bay miniseries weekend tripleheader. ... Dale Hollidge placed sixth one night after winning at Potomac Speedway while Ricky Elliott, Thursday night's winner at Delaware International Speedway, slipped to 10th in the final rundown. ... Amanda Whaley, who set fast time for the first two events of the weekend, did not qualify. ... Allen Brannon earned $1,000 for winning the 25-lap RUSH Crate Late Model feature. It was his third straight Crate victory at Winchester. ... The three tracks will join for two more rounds of the miniseries on July 27-29 and Aug. 10-12.
