What won the race: A rallying Jonathan Davenport of Blairsville, Ga., made it 2-for-2 in his new G.R. Smith ride Sunday with a $4,000 victory in Dog Hollow Speedway's fourth annual Shawn "Sheetz" McGarvey Memorial. Davenport tagged the tail of the B-main, transferred to the feature and took the lead from polesitter Waylon Wagner on a lap-25 restart for the 45-lap victory. Wagner retired running second while Kyle Hardy scored a runner-up finish.
Key notes: Race stoppages included a lap-15 red flag when John Wayne Weaver's car rolled on the backstretch; he wasn't hurt but the car sustained frame damage. ... Davenport won $5,200 the previous night at Elkins Raceway in Kerens, W.Va. ... He planned to run Sunday at Midway Speedway in Crooksville, Ohio, but when the $12,000-to-win Jim Dunn Memorial rained out, the team headed to Dog Hollow. ...
