What won the race: Fastrak tour points leader Benji Hicks of Mount Airy, N.C., took the lead Walker Arthur on the 17th lap and raced to a $3,000 victory at Princeton Speedway. Hicks captured the seventh annual Upper Big Branch Miners Memorial for his fourth series victory of the season.
Key notes: The event paid tribute to the 29 miners who lost their lives in an explosion at the Upper Big Branch coal mine on April 5, 2010. … Third-place finisher Henry Hornsby III of Beckley, W.Va., won Aug. 5’s Fastrak-sanctioned Little General Stores 40 at Princeton. … Only two dates remain on Princeton’s 2017 schedule. … The track will be closed Aug. 19 for the West Virginia State Fair and the NASCAR race two hours away in Bristol, Tenn.
