Billy Moyer picked up a tuneup victory before the World 100.
What won the race: Taking the lead from Andrew Reaume on the sixth lap, Billy Moyer of Batesville, Ark., led the rest of Sunday's 30-lap Baltes Classic at Eldora Speedway. Moyer pulled away from Dale McDowell of Chickamauga, Ga., by 2.538 seconds after a late restart, while Kent Robinson was third. The tuneup for next weekend's World 100 paid $3,000.
Key notes: Moyer, who has seven career ALMS victories, also won the event in 2015. ... The race was slowed by three cautions on laps 18, 21 and 23. ... Fourteen of the 22 starters completed all 30 laps. ... Early leader Andrew Reaume dropped out on lap 23, finishing 18th. ... It was the 10th running of the Baltes Classic by Coors Light, which honors Eldora founders Earl and Berneice Baltes. … The event kicked off the week leading to the World 100. … Eldora's hosted its third Sunoco American Late Model Series event of the season; a final series visit is set for Oct. 7.
