What won the race: Fourth-starting Jack Sullivan of Greenbrier, Ark., grabbed the lead from B.J. Robinson of Bossier City, La., on a restart near the halfway mark of the 40-lapper and went on to win the first-ever Comp Cams Super Dirt Series race at Springfield Raceway. Sullivan finished a straightaway ahead of ninth-starting Gavin Landers of Batesville, Ark., in winning the tour's season opener. Seventh-starting Robert Baker of Bryant, Ark., finished third.
Key notes: Sullivan's victory, the 25th of his career on the CCSDS, earned him $3,000. ... B.J. Robinson slipped to eighth after leading early. ... Jesse Stovall scored a hard-earned fourth-place finish. He rallied after relinquishing a top-five spot to change two tires and late in the race had sparks flying from his car due to a broken door brace. ... Fifteen drivers finished the race with 13 of the 18 starters finishing on the lead lap. ... Caeden Cornell, Jake Davis and Shannon Scott failed to start the feature. ... The Jerry Hoffman-promoted Springfield Raceway hosted its first Comp Cams Super Dirt Series race … The tour returns Sept. 15.
