What won the race: Charging around Eric Wells on the high side with five laps remaining, polesitter Dakota Knuckles of Ewing, Va., reclaimed the lead and then went on to hold off Donald McIntosh to win Friday’s Schaeffer’s Spring Nationals feature at Tazewell Speedway. McIntosh settled for second, with Billy Ogle Jr. third. Knuckles earned $5,000 for his first career Schaefer’s Spring Nationals victory.
Quotable: “I thought Eric had me and I ‘bout drove over my head a few times,” said Knuckles. “My dad over here on the back straightaway was telling me to get up, get up … I’m glad I did.”
