What won the race: Dustin Hodges of Centralia, Mo., charged forward from his eighth starting position to win Saturday’s 30-lap main event at Springfield Raceway. Hodges finished ahead of third-starting Tommy Cordray in earning $1,000 in the Malvern Bank Cash Money Series event.
Key notes: The victory was the fifth overall of the season for Hodges. … He won a ULMA-sanctioned race Thursday at Humboldt (Kan.) Speedway and finished second at Lake Ozark Speedway in Eldon, Mo., on Friday, giving him three podiums in as many starts. … It was a non-points race and was the first of two visits the Malvern Bank Series will make to Springfield this season. … There have been six different Cash Money Series winners in seven events. … The series returns to Springfield on Sept. 29.
