What won the race: Bouncing back after being shuffled back to seventh early in the race, Max Blair of Centerville, Pa., took the lead from Mike Maresca on lap 16 and went on to claim his seventh ULMS victory of the season. Blair earned $2,500 for Friday’s win at Freedom Motorsports Park. Maresca finished second, with Greg Oakes third.
Quotable: “I got hit going into the corner (on lap three) and got shoved up the race track and then we got hit real hard coming off the corner and made me fall back, but it’s all part of racing,” said Blair. “It was a little hairy there, for awhile, but it all worked out. We got back by those guys and we’re sitting here. It’s awesome. This year has just been unbelievable”
Key notes: Polesitter Greg Oakes led the first 13 laps before slowing under a caution, giving the lead to Mike Maresca. … Dave Hess slowed with a flat tire on lap 13. … A final caution waved on lap 24 for Mike Wonderling, who had a flat tire, setting up a six-lap shootout, but Blair pulled away from Maresca. ...
