Shane Clanton celebrates his Ultimate Southeast Series win.
What won the race: Shane Clanton of Zebulon, Ga., led all the way Saturday at Senoia Raceway for a $4,000 victory on the Ultimate Southeast Series.
Quotable: “Man, we really needed this win to gain some momentum for our team,” Clanton said. “We’ve been better than what our results have shown, but we just haven’t been able to put it altogether. There’s a lot of tough guys that were here tonight that know this track like the back of their hand, so this win is definitely a confidence-builder. Maybe now that we’ve tasted victory again we can carry momentum into all of these big-paying shows that are coming up.”
Key notes: Clanton lapped up to 13th-place. ... Four cautions slowed the pace. ... The most serious incident was on the first lap with John Henderson Jr. and Austin Horton involved. ... Horton was piloting a new Rocket Chassis.
On the move: Provisional starter Zach Leonhardi of Cartersville, Ga., started 23rd and finished fifth.
Winner's sponsors: Clanton’s Capital Race Car is powered by a Clements Racing Engine and sponsored by Weldbank Energy, Advocare, Keyser Mfg., Super K Express, The Butcher Shop, Bill Roberts Trucking, Cooper Meat Packers, Penske Shocks and M&S Concrete.
