Shan Smith captured his fourth career Florida Late Model Challenge victory.
What won the race: Lapping all but runner-up David Whitener, Shan Smith of Dade City, Fla., raced to his second Florida Late Model Challenge Series victory of the season. Smith finished 4.043 seconds ahead of Whitener in winning $1,000 at All-Tech Raceway on Saturday.
Key notes: Smith picked up his fourth career victory with the Florida tour. … His previous wins came at Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Fla. in June, and at Volusia and All-Tech last season. … Eleven of the 17 starters finished the race.
