Cade Dillard takes the checkered flag for his fifth Louisiana win of the season.
What won the race: Fourth-starting Cade Dillard of Robeline, La., earned his fifth Louisiana Late Model Series victory Friday at Chatham Speedway, earning $2,000 in the Scary 30. Dillard took the checkers in the tuneup event for Saturday's $9,000-to-win Spooky 50 at Chatham.
Quotable: “Probably about seven or eight laps in my car started coming to,” winner Cade Dillard said. “I knew the top wouldn’t be there too long so I knew I had to make a move while I could before (they) starting guarding the bottom. I think Robbie (Stuart) spun the tires or something there (on the restart) and that was probably my only shot to get by. He had a good car. Luckily was were able to get the lead.”
Key notes: Four of Dillard's five Louisiana Late Model Series events have come at Chatham. ... He can earn a $1,000 bonus if he can win Saturday's main event.
