What won the race: Snapping Brad Looney’s six-race series win streak, eighth-starting Brandon Hunter of Alma, Ark., won Friday’s Malvern Bank Cash Money Super Dirt Series main event at Thunderbird Speedway. Looney finished second after starting ninth, while fourth-starting Michael Maggard finished third. Hunter earned $1,000 for his third career series triumph.
Key notes: Sixteen of 24 starters finished. … Cole Wells finished 18th. … Looney of Republic, Mo., has won all seven of the last nine series races dating back to last season. … The series returns to Thunderbird on Aug. 2 and Sept. 27-28.
