What won the race: Dane Dacus of Lakeland, Tenn., topped polesitter Chad Thrash in Saturday night’s 40-lap Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series sanctioned event at Whynot Motorsports Park. He earned $3,000 for his fourth career MSCCS victory.
Key notes: Dacus won a MSCCS event at Whynot for the third consecutive year. ... Whynot hosted the tour for the second and final time this season. The race was originally set for June 8 but was pushed back a week because of rain. … Ashton Winger of Hampton, Ga., won the tour’s April 20 visit to Whynot. He finished fifth on Saturday. ... Eight drivers complete 40 laps and 15 were running at the finish.
