Jimmy Elliott takes the checkers at 411 Motor Speedway.
What won the race: Stalking hometown driver Ryan King late in the race, Jimmy Elliott of Cleveland, Tenn., rubbed underneath exiting turn four on the final lap and grabbed his second career victory on the series. King was second followed by fast qualifier and polesitter Cory Hedgecock of Loudon, Tenn.
Quotable: “Ryan was leaving just enough of the bottom groove open for me to get my nose in there going into turn three,” Elliott said. “I got into him, and I didn’t mean to, but it’s the last lap, and it’s for the win. That’s racing.”
Key notes: Jimmy Elliott's nickname is the Mohawk Warrior. ... Cory Hedgecock led the first four laps, Brian King led 5-39 and Elliott only the final lap. ... King's car carried a tribute to mentor Scott Sexton, the late Pigeon Forge, Tenn., driver. ... Two of three cautions were for single cars; the third came on lap 24 when Elliott spun into the infield after tangling with a lapped car. He was restored to the third spot when officials blamed the yellow on the slower car. ... Cory Hedgecock's fast time lowered the track record. ...
On the move: Walker Arthur of Forest, Va., rallied from 12th to finish fourth.
Winner's sponsors: Elliott's CVR Race Car is sponsored by Car Smart Auto Sales, EasyAuto, Stealth Racing Carburetors and AR Bodies.
Points chase: Fourth-finishing Walker Arthur has 284 points to lead Josh Adkins (268), Mack McCarter (264), Chris Noah (248) and Ronnie Johnson (240) after four series events.
