What won the race: Kicking off the Southwest Dirt Racing Association's Labor Day Extravaganza in flawless fashion, John Cornell of Phoenix, Ariz., raced to a flag-to-flag victory in Saturday's 25-lap weekend opener at Central Arizona Speedway. He wasn't seriously challenged en route to capturing the caution-free feature's $700 top prize over his fourth-starting teammate Craig Parker.
Key notes: Cornell, the two-time and defending SWDRA champion, scored his fourth win of 2019 and 20th of his career on the Arizona-based tour. He sits third on the circuit's all-time win list. ...
