What won the race: Leading every lap from the pole, Jon Mitchell of Texarkana, Texas, won Saturday's Super Late Model portion of the Firecracker Twin 5000s at Chatham Speedway. Mitchell outran Bubba Mullins and Brandon Hightower while building leads of more than a straightaway.
Quotable: “We had a pretty good car tonight. We’ve been working on ‘em the last few weeks and kinda got onto something that works for me,” said Mitchell. “Man we needed this a lot right here. We can use that big check. It’s been awhile since we’ve been running good. We’re kinda getting back on track.”
