What won the race: Outside front-row starter Rick Eckert of York, Pa., cruised to an Ultimate Northeast Series victory Friday at Path Valley Speedway, leading all 40 laps to earn $3,000 for his fourth career series win.
Quotable: "I left my car maneuverable because I knew we would be in traffic soon. Traffic was a blast. The racetrack was great. It was three lanes wide and man it was just fun to run,” Eckert said. “Them shiny parts are icey slippery. You can’t get crooked in them. … I was able to maneuver through them and get back to traction and it all worked out for us.”
Key notes: Eckert's previous series victory came July 27, 2019, at BAPS Motor Speedway in York Haven, Pa. ... At Path Valley, Eckert lapped everyone but runner-up Gregg Satterlee, polesitter Dillan Stake and Nick Dickson. ... Nine of 21 starters retired from the event.
