What won the race: Outside front-row starter Justin Zeitner of Malvern, Iowa, held off Jason Rauen in Friday night’s Yankee Dirt Classic opener at 300 Raceway to pocket $3,000. Finishing 1.132 seconds ahead of Rauen, Zeitner recorded his fifth career Malvern Bank Series victory.
Key notes: Friday's program was the first leg of a weekend doubleheader for the Hoker Trucking Series and Malvern Bank Series sister tours at 300 Raceway as part of the 43rd annual Yankee Dirt Track Classic. Saturday's finale pays $10,000 to the winner. … Series points leader Tad Pospisil of Norfolk, Neb., started fourth but ran into trouble and ended up 15th.
