What won the race: Holding off 12th-starting Jesse Glenz, polesitter Jay Kintner of Hibbing, Minn., captured $3,500 in Friday’s 26th annual WISSOTA Classic at Grand Rapids Speedway. He took the checkers ahead of Glenz and Pat Doar.
Key notes: Grand Rapids hosted the 26th annual WISSOTA Classic, the second night of a four-race stretch for WISSOTA-sanctioned Late Models as they battle for a share of an $8,000 points fund, with $2,000 going to the winner of the Labor Day Weekend mini-tour. … The four-race stretch began Thursday at ABC Raceway in Ashland, Wis., and continues on Saturday and Sunday at Hibbing (Minn.) Raceway with the track’s 42nd annual Labor Day Shootout featuring a $2,000-to-win feature each day.
