What won the race: Second-starting Devin Gilpin of Columbus, Ind., turned back the mid-race challenge of Scott James and pulled to a $5,000 victory in Saturday's Bobby Wilson Memorial at Brownstown Speedway. Gilpin took the checkers 2.458 seconds ahead of Kent Robinson with Darrell Lanigan in third.
Key notes: Scott James nosed ahead of Gilpin to lead laps 19-24 in the 40-lapper, but the Bright, Ind., driver retired on lap32 running third. … Polesitter Mike Hildebrand of Loveland, Ohio, fell back to ninth early and retired with a damaged car. … The Bobby Wilson Memorial honored the former promoter and fan from North Vernon, Ind., whose son, Rob Wilson, is Brownstown's official starter. ...
