What won the race: Recording his second win in as many nights, fast qualifier and polesitter Brandon Overton of Evans, Ga., charged to the $5,000 victory in Saturday’s Tennessee State Championship at 411 Motor Speedway. He finished 9.136 seconds ahead of fellow front-row starter Cory Hedgecock.
Quotable: “(Runner-up) Cory (Hedgecock) is so good here. It doesn’t matter who comes, we all know we gotta beat Cory,” Overton said. “(I) just used the racetrack to my advantage and got a good run and was able to carry enough speed to pass him. Hat’s off to him. They’re good guys and they’re really good around here.”
