What won the race: Taking advantage of a late-race restart, third-starting Ashton Winger of Hampton, Ga., wheeled the G.R. Smith/J.C. Clary Brodnax-Shaker Motorsports No. 89 past Austin Horton for the lead with an outside move on lap 18 and paced the remainder of the distance to capture Friday's 25-lap Billy Clanton Classic at Senoia Raceway. Winger beat Horton to the finish line for the $3,000 winner's check in the Southern All Star Series-sanctioned event.
Quotable: "Anyone who knows the Clanton family knows how much they mean to me, so it's awesome to win this race," Winger said. Then Shane (Clanton) got by me and I never expected that, but I just kept trying to find that top. When we had that restart, I just gave it everything I had ... I drove in as hard as I could to clear (Horton) and I hope I didn't chop-off his nose too bad there."
