What won the race: Brandon Fouts of Kite, Ky., led all 50 laps from the pole at Portsmouth Raceway Park on Saturday, winning the 11th annual Boone Coleman Memorial Gator 50 feature and earning his first career victory with the Valvoline Iron-Man Northern Series, worth $5,000.
Key notes: Fouts also won the Boone Coleman Memorial Gator 50 feature victory in 2017, '18 and '21. The victory also secures Fouts a guaranteed starting position in this October's Dirt Track World Championship event. ... Moving into second place on lap 37, Rod Conley of Wheelersburg, Ohio, finished 0.234 seconds back. ... Steve Casebolt of Richmond, Ind., took advantage of the lap-30 restart and ran as high as second, before giving way to Rod Conley and finishing third. ... After running in second place for the majority of the race, fellow Wheelersburg-native, R.J. Conley, faded in the closing laps and finished fourth. ... Series point leader Michael Chilton of Salvisa, Ky., retired after seven laps and finished 15th. ... Saturday's feature, the Iron-Man Series' second visit to Portsmouth this year, was slowed by six cautions and lasted 38 minutes, with seven competitors completing 50 laps.
