Rick Eckert celebrates Friday's ULMS triumph at Path Valley.
What won the race: Leading all 30 laps, polesitter Rick Eckert of York, Pa., cruised to the fifth Zimmer’s United Late Model Series victory of his career on Friday night at Path Valley Speedway. He finished ahead of Gregg Satterlee and fast qualifier Jason Covert.
Key notes: Eckert continued his summer hot streak, winning for the fifth time in seven starts since July 2. He entered July with just a single win in 2022 — March 25 at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pa., his previous ULMS triumph this season. ... Eckert's only losses in his last seven races were runner-up finishes. ... Path Valley hosted the Zimmer’s ULMS for the first time in series history. The tour was set to compete at the high-banked, quarter-mile oval last season but the event was rained out after time trials. … It was the opening night of a doubleheader weekend for the series; action moves to Hagerstown Speedway on Saturday for the $5,100-to-win Nathan Durboraw Memorial.
On the move: Danny Snyder of Green Lane, Pa., started 15th and finished eighth.
Winner's sponsors: Eckert’s Rocket Chassis is powered by a Jay Dickens Racing Engine and sponsored by PPC Lubricants, Drydene, S.L. Shenberger Dump Truck Service, Firehouse Subs, Suburban Bowlerama, Allstar Performance, M&M Painting & Construction and All About Wraps.
Points chase: Before Path Valley: 1. Jared Miley (356); 2. Gregg Satterlee (271); 3. Dave Stamm (197); 4. Rick Eckert (155); 5. Danny Snyder (146).
