Chad Holladay celebrates his holiday weekend victory.
What won the race: Fourth-starting Chad Holladay of Muscatine, Iowa, collected his third Hoker Trucking Series victory in Friday’s 25-lap opener of a doubleheader weekend at West Liberty Raceway. He took the checkers ahead of pole-starting Todd Cooney and Jeremiah Hurst.
Quotable: "We started fourth, second row outside there, and I got to second pretty early and then the caution come out there and (Todd) Cooney was in the lead," Holladay said. "I got a good restart coming off (turn) four there and I had to go. I mean (I had) clean air. I did a little slide job and it worked out and kind of set sail from there.”
Key notes: Chad Holladay notched his second Hoker Trucking Series victory of the season and third of his career. He previously won June 17 at C.J. Speedway in Columbus Junction, Iowa. ... Jeremiah Hurst drove a Joel Callahan-owned car to a third-place finish in his first significant outing of the season. ...
