Alex Ferree picked up a $2,000 win at Dog Hollow on Friday.
What won the race: Alex Ferree of Saxonburg, Pa., took the lead on a lap-14 restart Friday and paced the final 12 circuits at Dog Hollow Speedway to capture the $2,000 Hustle at the Hollow feature. Ferree's victory is the seventh of his career with the Zimmer's United Late Model Series in the first of two weekend ULMS events at Dog Hollow.
Key notes: Ferree won for the second time in seven days; he earned $5,000 in Sept. 10's unsanctioned event at Raceway 7 in Conneaut, Ohio. ... At Dog Hollow, Andrew Wylie moved into the runner-up position on the lap-24 restart and finished 1.041 seconds back. ... Ryan Montgomery also took advantage of the lap-24 restart, finishing third. ... Jason Covert ran inside the top-five all race and finished fourth. ... Making a rare start in the Northeast, Ross Bailes of Clover, S.C., finished fifth. ... Danny Snyder advanced five positions to finish seventh, while Dan Angelicchio gained nine spots to finish eighth. ... Friday's feature, a precursor to Saturday's $10,000-to-win weekend finale at Dog Hollow, was slowed by six cautions and lasted 27 minutes, with 18 drivers completing 25 laps.
