Chad Becker celebrates his first Tri-State Series victory of the season.
What won the race: Outside front-row starter Chad Becker of Aberdeen, S.D., led all 30 laps to capture Saturday's $5,000 Wheel Jam finale at Dakota State Fair Speedway. Becker beat Blair Nothdurft to the line by 2.620 seconds for his ninth career Repairable Vehicles.com Tri-State Series victory and his first of the season.
Key notes: Becker bagged his third career Tri-State Series victory at the Huron, S.D., 3/8-mile oval, all of them coming during past Wheel Jam events (2024 finale, '23 opener). ... It's Becker's sixth career special event triumph at Huron going back to Sept. of 2017, boosting his total winnings to more than $33,000 over that span. ... Sixth-starting Blair Nothdurft grabbed second on lap 13 and trailed Becker the rest of the way. ... Pole-starting Mike Stearns settled for third. ... Cole Searing, returning from emergency appendectomy surgery last weekend, improved eight positions to round out the top five. ... The 30-lapper lasted 20 minutes, with 14 starters completing the distance. ... The feature lineup was determined through two rounds of heat races, with the second round contested using an inverted starting order. … J.T.
