What won the race: After polesitter Riley Hickman of Ooltewah, Tenn., spun in the second turn on the race's initial start, second-starting Derek Ellis of Chatsworth, Ga., took command and led the entire distance for a $3,000 victory in Rome Speedway's season-opening event.
Key notes: The feature was slowed by six cautions. ... Second-row starters Jason Hiett of Oxford, Ala., and Ronnie Johnson of Chattanooga, Tenn., battled for second throughout the race. ... After being forced to the tail by his initial spin, Hickman rallied back through the field before dropping back to the tail late in the race. ...
