Bub McCool won his 15th career MSCCS event Saturday at Columbus.
What won the race: Bub McCool of Vicksburg, Miss., dominated Saturday's Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series program at Columbus Speedway, leading the entire distance for a $2,500 victory.
Quotable: “We put this new team together in the off-season, and I can’t thank Randy Thompson enough for giving me this opportunity,” McCool said. “This win is for him, and hopefully it’s the first of many to come this year. We’ve got a really awesome car, that’s for sure.”
Key notes: The tour made its 22nd trip to Columbus and first since last August. ... March 14's scheduled MSCCS season opener at Columbus was postponed by weather. ... McCool has 15 career MSCCS victories. His last came at North Alabama Speedway back in August.
