CLEWISTON, Fla. — Updates from Friday’s fourth annual Swamp Cabbage 100 prelim, featuring a 40-lap, $12,000-to-win main event for World of Outlaws Series-sanctioned Super Late Models (results unofficial):
Jumping to the high side early and overtaking polesitter Drake Troutman on the eighth lap, reigning series champ Bobby Pierce of Oakwood, Ill., rolled to a $12,000 victory in the World of Outlaws Late Model Series debut at Hendry County Motorsports Park. In a 40-lapper slowed by a single caution, Pierce led by as much as 5.7 seconds and took the checkers 1.381 seconds ahead of seventh-starting Ethan Dotson for his first WoO victory in six months.

Ryan Montgomery spun out of the fourth position late in the second heat. ... In a thrilling third heat, Daulton Wilson twice dove under early leader Nick Hoffman — once in turn one and once in turn three — then edged him in another near-photo finish.
